Students must complete ten (10) courses from the STS Major List available on the STS study plan
Students must complete one (1) additional 300- or 400-level humanities course outside of the HST prefix.
Students must complete five (5) additional elective courses, chosen by the student, which may be used to satisfy minor, double major, or dual-degree requirements.
Students must complete five (5) courses in one or more disciplines outside of the major program of study, including (but not limited to) engineering management, physics, chemistry, computer science, marketing analytics, or another discipline within HASS.
These courses may be used to satisfy minor, double major, or dual-degree requirements.
Students must complete:
MA 110 Linear Algebra for Business and Liberal Arts (2 cr.)
MA 111 Calculus I for Business and Liberal Arts (2 cr.)
Students must also complete one of the following:
MA 134 Discrete Mathematics
MA 236 Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning
Students must complete three (3) science courses from prefixes CH, BIO, or PEP, or CE 240.
Students may take any science courses as long as prerequisites are met.
Completing the lab portion of a science course carries one additional credit per course.
Recommended courses include the following:
PEP 123 – Physics for Business and Technology
PEP 151 – Introduction to Astronomy
CH 115 – General Chemistry I
Students must complete at least one course (3 cr.) in computer science. Students may choose any computer science course as long as they meet prerequisites.
Students are recommended to choose from:
CS 105 – Introduction to Scientific Computing
CS 115 – Introduction to Computer Science (4 cr.)
HAR 271 – Creative Programming
Students must complete the following courses to prepare for and execute their senior thesis projects:
HST / HQSS 301 – Research Design and Methods
HASS 498 – Thesis Preparation
HASS 499 – Senior Thesis (4 cr.)
Students must complete one of the following:
MGT 103 - Introduction to Entrepreneurial Thinking (2cr.)
MGT 301 - Entrepreneurship
