Program Description

The minor in physics is an 18-credit degree program and is available to all students except physics majors. It is suitable for both students who are fascinated by physics and simply wish to learn more about the field as well as for those who wish to pursue graduate studies in fields where critical thinking and analytic skills are heavily utilized.

Program Objectives

Objectives:
This program prepares students to:

  1. Go on to grad school and beyond in STEM field

  2. Find an industry career doing research or solving practical problems with scientific tools

  3. Be advocate of physics and promote interest in the broader community

Outcomes:
By the time of graduation, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of physical phenomena

  2. Model complex real-world problems using mathematical and physical knowledge

  3. Demonstrate proficiency in mathematical and computational techniques needed for a proper understanding of physics
