Program Description

The Media Engineering Minor is intended for Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering students who seek to gain and enhance their knowledge in media engineering principles and their applications. This minor is designed to complement their primary field of study.

Program Objectives

This program prepares students to:

  • Be recognized as innovative technical experts who demonstrate advanced understandings of the state-of-the-art in media engineering, as well as their professional, social and ethical responsibilities.

  • Emerge as technical leaders through their own individual contributions and their abilities to work with and influence others.

  • Function as effective entrepreneurs who nurture new technologies from concept to commercialization.

Student Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students will be able to:

  • Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

  • Apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.

  • Acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies
