An overview of the biomedical engineering field with applications relevant to the healthcare industry, medical instrumentation and medical devices. Students will be introduced to fundamental programming concepts, the use of MATLAB and Simulink, and systems modeling. They will apply these methods to projects with topics in the areas of physiology, medical instrumentation and devices, and the healthcare industry. The course will further include discussion of ethical issues related to the project topics.
