Course Description

This course introduces the principles of effective scientific writing, focusing on fellowship applications, grant proposals and research manuscripts. Students will learn how to communicate scientific findings clearly and persuasively, as well as what strategies enhance clarity, coherence, and impact in scientific documents. Topics include structure and conventions of research articles and grant proposals, writing for different audiences, argumentation and persuasion, revision techniques, and ethical considerations. Students will develop their own scientific documents, including a literature review and two fellowship applications, refining them through peer review and iterative revisions.
