Senior design course. Complete design sequence with a required capstone project spanning two semesters along with PEP424. The development of design skills, teamwork, and engineering judgment, based upon previous course work, is accomplished by participation in a design project. Projects are selected in areas of current interest in optical engineering such as optical communications, optical system design and imaging, photonic devices, metrology, lasers, and quantum information. To be taken during the student’s last fall semester as an undergraduate student.
