Course Description

This course introduces all aspects of human and artificial intelligence required for managing the design and innovation activities required in the engineering enterprise including: (a) understanding technological innovations, (b) managing the innovation (and development) process, and (c) managing the people in the development enterprise. The course is built on a fundamental concept that successful development of innovative products (and services) requires the integration and fusion of these three streams into a single course providing engineering management students with a systems perspective and a toolbox for technology and product development in the engineering enterprise. The course introduces foundational constructs related to: Technological innovation, Product development process, Organizational behavior and design.
